What is dipp?

dipp is an easy way to earn cashback from your everyday purchases. Think of it as getting a nifty reward for shopping, dining, and getting pampered at your favorite places. dipp works with popular local businesses to maximize your cashback in exchange for, well… just going about your everyday business making everyday purchases. Earn cash back from dipp in addition to benefits from your existing credit card rewards program...something we like to call the double dipp! Download. Connect. Shop. Cashback. Connect your credit card, then dine or shop your heart away. Cash out your rewards directly to your bank account through the Interac e-Transfer service. No clipping of coupons. No remembering codes. How do I edit my account information?

Can I access my account on a computer?

Currently, we do not have a web application for dipp. You can access your account via our app, which can be downloaded from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store

How do I delete my account?

Are you sure? We are in our early stages and will continue adding cashback offers for everyday purchases.  We don’t want you to miss out on what’s coming next.   We don’t want to see you go but if you have made up your mind, then you can delete your account by contacting us at help@getdipp.ca.Once your account has been deleted any remaining dipp cashback is eliminated and cannot be retrieved.  Please cash out all your dipp cash back prior to deleting your account.

Card Linking

What type of cards can I link to dipp?

Currently we support all eligible Canadian-issued VISA & Mastercard credit cards.

Why do you need my card information, and why should I link them to dipp?

Our offers are not like traditional programs with coupons or loyalty punch-cards that you have to cut out or bring with you. We rely on your linked credit card to know when you make an eligible purchase at our participating merchant locations and apply the cashback to your dipp account.Connect up to five of your cards to the dipp app. That way whichever card you use we’ll apply the cashback to your dipp account for your eligible everyday purchases.

Can I link more than one card?

Yes. We encourage you to link up to five cards so you can earn more cash back.To check which cards are linked, open the dipp app, tap your cashback icon on your bottom right corner, and tap on “Manage your cards”.

Can I add the same card onto different dipp accounts?

Once a card is connected, it's associated with your specific account. The same card cannot be linked to another dipp account — like for your spouse or child – while it is still linked to your dipp account. This prevents fraud and protects our dipp users.If you’d like to link your card to a different account, you’ll first need to unlink it from your current account.

How do I unlink a card I have previously linked to dipp?

To unlink a card on the dipp app: Open the dipp app. Tap the cashback icon located in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Tap on “manage your cards”. Tap on the trash-can icon for the card(s) that you want to unlink.

What if I am not able to link my card?

First of all, please ensure that you’re on the latest dipp app build. Look for updates in the App Store or Google Play. Dipp app links any Canadian-issued VISA & Mastercard credit cards. Once a card is linked/connected, it's associated with your specific dipp account and with the email address you registered on the app. You will need to delete that card from your dipp account if you want to link that card on to a different dipp account with a different email address.  For clarity, you cannot link a card to two different email addresses.  This prevents fraud and protects our Dipp consumers.

Other instances as to why you cannot link a credit card may be due to one of the following:

dipp app does not link to gift cards or PayPal cards

The card you are trying to link may be already linked to a different dipp account.  Note that you cannot link the same card to two different dipp accounts. This includes any instance of a card with an authorized user—although the names on the cards may be different, if the card number is the same, it can only be associated with one dipp account.  Our recommendation is to reach out to your bank or the credit card company to see if you can get cards with separate numbers. This may work with some banks/credit card companies but not others.

Once you link your credit card(s), please allow a day or two to ensure your credit card(s) have been registered with the dipp network. You can start earning cashback only once your credit card is registered.

Offers are available to all dipp members in Canada.

Can I use dipp with Apple Pay, Android Pay and/or Samsung Pay?

Yes, you can use any of these payment services as long as the card being used with Apple/Samsung/Android Pay is the same card that you registered with dipp.

Can I use these offers more than once?

Yes! Unless the specific offer terms state otherwise, these offers are available for you to use as many times as you want.  As long as an offer is active and you pay with the card registered on the dipp app, you will be able to collect cashback. Please check below for offer terms."

What should I do if I didn’t get cashback from an Offer?

There could be several reasons why cashback was not issued to your dipp account. The most common reasons are:
1) You did not make your purchase with a card that is linked to your dipp account
2) The offer was not valid at the time of purchase. Check the expiry date on the offer
3) The offer was not available at the location you made the purchase
4) The credit card is deleted from your dipp app before the transaction has cleared
5) The offer had a minimum spend that was not met.

What do I do if I don’t see any offers in my area?

We are currently running our pilot only in Downtown Toronto, so if you are outside our pilot area then you might not see any offers. We are working day in and out to expand to other locations. Let us know where you’d like to see offers by reaching out to us from Settings > Contact Support then we can work harder to get offers in locations that interest dipp users.

Earning & Cashing-out Cashback

Does my cashback expire?

No.  Available cashback can be cashed out as long as your dipp account is active (in other words, as long as you haven’t deleted your account) and your dipp account has at least $25 in it.

How do I earn cashback on dipp?

Earning cashback on dipp is easy!
1) Link your eligible credit cards to the app
2) View different offers on dipp
3) Shop using the linked credit card(s) like any other day at our participating merchant locations
4) Once you make a purchase, you automatically get cashback in your dipp account(*please refer to individual offer limits and dipp terms and conditions for more information)

When will I see my cashback on the app?

Cashback earned from majority of our merchants will be available in your dipp account on a real-time basis and you will be able to see it in your dipp account as soon as you make your purchase.  Payments at certain merchants aren’t processed in real-time, so for purchases at those merchants you might see the cashback in your dipp account anywhere from 1 day to 10 business days after your purchase.  In all instances, if you do not receive your cashback 10 days after your purchase was made, please reach out to us at help@getdipp.ca

Earned Dipp Cash for a Qualifying Transaction will initially be marked as “pending” amounts in your Dipp account.  It may take up to 7 business days from the date a Qualifying Transaction is made for the related earned Dipp Cash to be reflected in your dipp account as pending.  As soon as we are notified that a Qualifying Transaction has been fully settled the related earned Dipp Cash will be marked under “cashback balance”.

What do I do if I don't see the cashback in my dipp account?

If you have followed the steps, completed the purchase, and it has been more than 10 business days since you completed the purchase, please contact our Contact Support team and they will be happy to assist you. You can reach out to us through the app by going under Settings > Contact Support. You can also contact us at help@getdipp.ca.

How do I transfer my cashback to my bank account?

You may transfer funds after reaching the minimum cashback balance of $25 in your dipp account. Transfer of funds happen through an external service and might take up to 5 business days to show up in your bank account.Amounts over $250 may be subject to review and may take up to 7 business days to show up in your bank account.

What do I do if I don’t receive or see my cashback in my bank account?

Please allow up to 7 business days for your cashback to appear within your account. If you do not receive your cashback after 7 business days, and the app has not notified you of a service outage with that card, please reach out to us through the app by going to your Settings > Contact Support. You can also contact us at help@getdipp.ca.

What if I want to use a different email to transfer my cashback earnings?

Dipp will transfer your funds via the Interac e-Transfer service using the email address registered on the dipp app.  Note: you can only transfer your cashback to the email address associated with your dipp account.  Please ensure you provide the correct email address at sign-up. If you have to make any updates, please reach out to us from Settings > Contact Support.

How can I keep track of the cashback I’ve received?

Check your dipp balance directly on the dipp app. Just login to the app and tap the Cashback icon on the bottom of your screen. In this section you will see all of your cashback activity.
- “Pending” is the amount of cashback awaiting merchant confirmation.
- “Cashback balance” is the amount of cashback you have accrued in your dipp account, including pending transactions
- “Lifetime” is the total amount of cashback you’ve earned through dipp since signing up. This includes any pending cashback.

You are eligible to redeem your earned cashback using the Interac e-Transfer service once the available cashback (the difference between your Cashback balance and your Pending amount) is $25 or more. The password to receive your earned cashback can be accessed from your Account Details, under the Settings tab.

Cashback limit: You can earn up to $100 cashback per transaction.

Does it matter how I pay for my purchases when using dipp?

Yes, you can only earn cashback through dipp when you pay using a credit card you have linked to the dipp app.

Do I receive cashback if I order through third party food delivery or pickup apps?

No, you can only earn cashback if you shop in-store at any of our merchant locations using your linked credit card.

Do I still earn cashback/points/other benefits from my credit card loyalty program?

Absolutely yes! When you spend on your linked cards you will earn cashback from dipp on top of any benefits you already receive from your credit card’s loyalty program. Something we like to call double dipp

Can I return an item associated with a dipp offer?

It depends on the participating merchant’s return policy.  Dipp does not impose any restrictions on returns. If you receive a refund from the merchant, we will delete any cashback awarded on that transaction from your dipp account balance. Please refer to the merchant’s return period and policies for details.

Security & Privacy

How secure is dipp?

Dipp as a platform is designed with controls and measures to keep your data safe and secure.  Powered by RBC Ventures, dipp leverages bank-level encryption technology.

As an added safeguard, we validate your email during account activation. This will keep your account information secure in case your device gets stolen.

Is dipp PCI compliant? How does that affect me?

PCI applies to any business that accepts or stores any credit card data. Simply put, PCI DSS requirements apply when you pay a business directly using a credit card but dipp does not ask you to pay for any service directly on the platform and therefore we don’t require PCI-DSS compliance that other businesses would.

Third party services which enable you to link your credit card are all PCI-DSS compliant.

What information does dipp collect about me? How does dipp use it?

When you create an account on dipp, you are asked to provide us with information such as your name and email address. This information may be used for security purposes to identify the owner of your account.

Once you have linked one of your credit cards to dipp, we collect your transaction data at participating merchant locations to provide you with cashback. This also helps us learn what you like so that we can provide you with more relevant offers.

If your device permissions are set to allow for the use of location-based services, we will organize, sort and present the Offers to you based on your location, and we will provide an estimated distance to the Participating Merchants from your current location.

How secure is the dipp app in case my smartphone is lost or someone tries to use the app and abuse the credit cards stored in there?

Credit card information is not stored by dipp or on our servers. When your credit card information is displayed, the app only reveals the last 4 digits. Anyone who picks up your phone cannot see your credit card information in the dipp app.  Also, it is not possible to make purchases through the dipp app.

As an added safeguard, we validate your email during account activation. This will keep your account information secure in case your device gets stolen.

How are you able to see my transaction data?

By linking your credit card, we will be able to retrieve transaction data about the eligible purchases you make at our participating merchant locations on that card.  We only see information about the transactions that are eligible for an offer.

Is my credit card secure?

We use the latest bank-level, encryption technology to keep your data safe and secure. For security purposes, we may contact you directly to validate the information given.

Do the participating merchant locations get access to my data?

We will provide a limited amount of user-specific data to merchants to verify certain transactions and facilitate the program.  We may also provide aggregate, anonymized data to merchants; but, we will never share specific information about who you are or any other personal information.

Do you use or sell the data that you track?

No, we do not sell any of our data. We only use the data we track, and share aggregate, anonymized data with participating merchants, to improve your experience.

Troubleshooting

How do I let you know if I found an issue on the app?

Found something that is not working quite right? Please let us know!Just go into your dipp app and go to Settings > Contact Support to reach out to us. Please provide a screenshot so we can get a glimpse of what you are seeing.

How do I reset my password?

Forgot your password? No problem. Simply tap the Reset Password button. Then follow the instructions.

How do I reach Contact Support?

Send us an email to help@getdipp.ca.  Contact Support or within the app click on the Settings icon on the bottom of the screen, and then click on Contact Support.  This will open your email application. Please be sure to fill out the fields and enter a detailed description of your inquiry.If your inquiry is related to an error in the app send us a screenshot so we can get a glimpse of what you are seeing.

Why is my account suspended?

Your account may be suspended because we have detected potential fraudulent activity or you’ve potentially violated our Terms and Conditions.  When your account is suspended your earned cashback is no longer available for transfer.

You may request a review of your account’s suspension. However, if we’ve determined you have violated our Terms and Conditions your account will be permanently deactivated, you will permanently be restricted from using dipp, any transfers currently in progress will be halted, and your earned cashback will be forfeited.

What should I do if I don’t receive the verification email?

Ensure the email address registered on your dipp account was entered correctly.  If it was incorrectly entered, you won’t receive the email. If you need to change the email address, please reach out to us.  Go to Settings > Contact Support.
